At Jookender, we’re also committed to supporting each individual on their own personal journey to career success. Each year we host professional development seminars and trainings to help people hone their skills. In some cases, we may even subsidize programs offered elsewhere to allow individuals to expand their skill sets and develop their personal expertise.

North Shore Coordinator

North Shore Coordinator – Community Outreach

Type: Volunteer w/stipend, flat.

Jookender Community Initiatives, Inc (JCI) is seeking an Outreach and Engagement Specialist at the North Shore, Boston Area, limited to these towns: Beverly, Boxford, Danvers, Essex, Georgetown, Gloucester, Ipswich, Hamilton, Lynn, Lynnfield, Manchester, Marblehead, Middleton, Nahant, Newbury, Newburyport, Peabody, Rockport, Rowley, Salem, Saugus, South Hamilton, Swampscott, Topsfield, Wenham. The part-time outreach and engagement specialist will be helping us to expand our impact at Northshore, building on our success and past work in Metrowest, Boston Area. Programming will be targeted in those areas, where many Russian Speaking Families (RSF), including Interfaith families, live, such as Lynn, Swampscott, Marblehead, and surrounding communities.

The ideal candidate will reside in one of the above-mentioned towns, have personal experience with young children, be outgoing and empathetic, have a deep understanding of the Russian Speaking Community, and bring substantial program planning and engagement experience in building relationships and relevant programs for Russian Speaking Families.

Job Responsibilities:

• The Outreach and Engagement Specialist will be responsible for connecting Russian speaking families to each other to other organizations and professionals to meet individual needs.

• Design, develop, and execute community programs that meet the needs of the community

• Connect people to programs offered by Jookender

• Collaborate with local organizations that serve the same populations

• Build community presence and visibility for Jookender by attending other than Jookender’s events and representing Jookender there.

• Collect feedback from participating families

• Track activities for reporting purposes

• Document the process, program design, and outcomes so that we can replicate the programs in the future 

Minimum Requirements:

• Bi-lingual – Russian – Native Fluency, English – basic, enough to communicate with English-speaking professionals verbally and in writing.

• A deep understanding of the needs and experiences of Jewish families with young children

• Outgoing, warm and empathetic with an ability to network and build relationships

• Entrepreneurial and creative thinker, ability to dig in and turn ideas into reality

• Community organizing, outreach, or other engagement work a plus

• Excellent organizational skills and follow through

• Ability to build trust, be a “connector” and have customer experience orientation

• Ability to adjust to dynamically changing priorities, manage multiple resources, innovate and learn new tools and processes, pitch in and “get hands dirty” in small non-profit environment

This program requires some availability during nights and weekends, as well as limited travel throughout the Greater Boston Area. This position will report to the Executive/Program Director of Jookender Community Initiatives, Inc.

Training Provided. Benefits included, but not limited to professional development, Free North Shore event participation for the entire family, Jookender Specials.

This position requires availability at nights and on weekends, and one time/month in-person meeting with the Program Director, during the weekday hours.

South Shore Coordinator

Young Adults Coordinator

Coordinator, Young Adults Programs (temporary, grant funded)

Type: Volunteer w/stipend (bonuses), flat.
Project: Young Adults 2019
Category: Part Time, around 10 hours/month
Duration: September 2019 – December 2019

Jookender is happy to report that we received a grant for the Jewish Young Adult Club "Bekitzur" and we are looking for a highly motivated individual to help us to build a young adults community and support the idea of intellectual and team games.

• Are you engaged with a community of young adults (22-30 y.o.) such as your friends and acquaintances who meet on a regular basis for some fun intellectual or team-building games and challenges? Do you like to organize such events?

• Do you get joy from using your creativity and resources to build comradery?

• Can you work flexible hours, during the nights and weekends, approx. 10 hours/month?

Social Team Building is one of the goals for Jookender. We are looking to grow and connect through shared goals, interests, and experiences. In this role you will be organizing a wide variety of educational, leadership, volunteer, and social activities that allow for meaningful involvement while benefiting the local and global Jewish community.

Major plus, if you are now working with Young Adults on any other project. 

This role will report to Jookender Executive Director, Sasha Grebenyuk.
