Kids April One-Day Camps

Welcome to our April’s One-day camps!

Why do we need those 3 random days, instead of the April Vacation break? Because, Sasha is not available during the break. Besides, April 7th is a “Good Friday” – most schools are closed anyway. April 21st is the last day of Spring Break vacation in Massachusetts, the only day Sasha will be able to run this camp during the break, and April 30th is chosen, because it’s Sunday, no school, Jookender has generously gotten the full day use the facilities, and private school students, as well, as campers from the neighboring states may sign up that day too. So, 3 not-so-random days.

Children of all ages play and learn together. The youngest learn skills and techniques from the older kids, and the oldest kids learn patience and generosity. We do not divide by age groups in the one-day camps. Our camps serve a great way to teach children teamwork and leadership skills from the early ages. In addition to that, parents report seeing improved Russian skills among the participants. We do not demand speaking Russian at camp, but this way or another, we all speak Russian at least 75% of the time. We also learn Hebrew words here and there, and of course, we speak English where it makes sense too. Our Staff is Bi- or even Tri-lingual.

There is a principle teacher and 2-3 Teacher Assistants (Teenagers) a day, serving as a staff for the camp. Ration is 1:5 or less, based on the number of participants. We do not have an RN on premises, and would prefer to call our camps as “Camp Programs”, not just regular camps.

The regular camp hours are 9-4 pm, however, you may opt in for the

• early drop off (from 8 am) – Extra $10 p/day and/or

• late pickup (by 6 pm) – Extra $20 p/day

We accept children 6-11 years old to the camp. Under 6 y.o. – ask Sasha. Over 11 y.o. – ask Sasha.

Our schedule will be as follows:

  • For the early Drop off – 8-9 am, free play
  • 9-30 am – 10:00 am – introductions, ice brakers with teens
  • 10:00 am – 10:30 am - 1st Arts & Crafts project
  • 10:30 am – Snack (we provide)
  • 10:45 am – 12:30 pm – 2nd & 3rd Arts & Crafts/STEM Project
  • 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm – Lunch (a parent provides)
  • 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm – 4 Cooking projects (1-2 savory, 1-2 sweet), mixed with 10-15 min breaks – playing w/teens. 2nd Snack occurs naturally, while cooking (we provide).
  • For the extended day (4-6 pm) either more arts & crafts projects or a movie.

We cook a lot, so it’s very important that you list all food allergies for each participant in your application. Also, we would appreciate if you provide your child with 3-4 small food containers to grab the food home.

Camp day costs $120 first child, $100 second child. If you sign up for all 3 camps at once, you’ll automatically get 10% discount for all 3 camps. However, if later you will need to cancel one of the camps, the cost will be counted in full for the remaining camps, and the amount you’ll get back will be less than 1/3 of the payment. Processing fee is not refundable. We offer discounts for the families in current financial hardship, with the proof of such.
