The Official Registration is closed. We’re happy to invite you to yet another travel opportunity – this time, to Japan! Our trip is for 7 nights/8 days and will include transfers to and from the airport (The transfer is free to those who come as a group, before the tour on 07/04, however, a paid transfer is offered for those who arrive separately from the main group, and the same is true for the transfers to the airport after the trip), the hotel, the English-speaking guide, the bus, all admissions and park entries, as per itinerary, 7 breakfasts, three lunches, and 1 dinner (well… maybe be more dinners, but we’ll see). This will be a private trip, only for us. We will not be joining various joint tours with strangers but rather enjoy everything to ourselves. This trip is recommended for Families with Teenagers, College Students, and Young Adults. You will need to purchase airplane tickets on your own. The tour starts in Tokyo – this is where you want to arrive, and finishes in Osaka – but we recommend you to stay with us for the optional part. Return with us to Tokyo, and fly back from Tokyo. This will make your ticket much less expensive and the price difference could be spent on the optional tours after the main tour. For those who are flying from Boston, MA, our dedicated travel agent, Galina Barry (see info below), will help you find the best rate if you allow her to do so. You will need to purchase Travel insurance for your trip, as well.

The trip is divided into 3 parts:

• Pre-Stay. The majority of the group is coming on July 4^th and therefore, we're offering a pre-stay program. The program is optional, even if you come with that group, and it includes visiting various onsens, them parks, and museums not included in the main tour. In the table below, you'll be able to find in the Table below, or/and, when you book the main tour and will be included into the facebook chat for our travelers.
• The Main part is the actual 7 nights/8 day tour. Everything in the table below in BLACK is about the main tour. We will visit 3 major cities, Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, and enjoy learning about various points of interest, food, culture, and history, especially the Holocaust History that can indirectly be linked to Jookender and our vibrant community. Before any discounts, the tour costs $2600 per adult and $2340 per child under 12. The minimum # of people we need for the tour is 13. If we get 26 participants on the trip, we can return another $200 for each participant upon completion of the tour.
• Post-Stay. If you're staying after the main trip, you have an option to join us for Hiroshima - Miyajima Island tour on July 14^th, and take with us a scenic train back to Kyoto/bullet train back to Tokyo on July 15^th. Stay overnight at TBD Tokyo Hotel, and transfer to the airport on July 16^th. All of these is being nailed and discussed in our Facebook chat for travelers, as we speak. To join this chat, you need to book the main tour first.

What else is available on that trip?

• A possibility (mentioned in the table) for a Room Upgrade. The upgrade costs only $75 p/p (for all three possible nights together, based on double/triple occupancy).
• A single supplement is available, as well. The price of the single supplement for the main tour is $550. For the pre-stay, it’s $60; for the post-tour, it’s 80. The single supplement is only needed for travelers who travel alone and without a companion.
• Optional workshops
  • Sushi lesson ($80 p/p)
  • Kimono wearing experience ($80 p/p)
• Other attractions will be added later

What discounts are available?

• The first eight families receive a Jookender discount automatically, as follows:
  • One person in the family registers for the trip - $300 off total registration
  • Two family members register for the trip - $600 off total registration
  • Three or more people in the family register for the trip - $1000 off total registration
• Club Chaverim members (current or future, paid for this entire year, for Spring only, or the following year (2024-2025) - receive automatically $100 off the trip.
• If we get to the point that we have 26+ participants (30 is the maximum), then every participant will receive another $200 off upon completion of the tour.
• We might lower the cost of the optional tours if we get more than five people on these tours.

What hotels are included in the trip? Can we choose our hotels instead?

• The hotels are mentioned in the table, day by day. It also says if that hotel has an upgrade option or not. The hotels are 3-4 star hotels. All hotels are in neat, safe areas; all private rooms have their private baths.
• With this tour, everything land-related is included in the price. You cannot choose a hotel on your own. We cannot separate the tour price from the hotel price and keep the same low rates for everything.

If we all want to come a day earlier (or leave a day later), but only some family members want to undertake the trip – do we all need to pay for the hotel for our stay as well?

Yes, in this case, a person who wants to go to the trip pays for the trip (the hotel room is included, based on double/triple occupancy), but you have to pay your part for the hotel room only.

What is the maximum number of people per family to stay at the same room?

We’ve been asked for a max of 4 (quadruple occupancy). The price p/p remains the same, 2, 3, or 4 participants. The only difference is if you’re traveling alone and want to have room for your own.

What is the refund policy for this trip?

• Until April 28^th, 2024 (registration deadline) – 100 % refund
• No refund after April 28^th, 2024

We do not offer Travel Insurance. We highly recommend you take insurance for the entire trip – including the Jookender cost and the cost of airfare. The same person, Galina Barry, may help you with it, or you may purchase one on your own. Just make sure it covers “for any reason.”
