Welcome to the Jookender Iceland Adventure, a 10-day “independent with Jookender” Journey of the Rootless Land of Ice and Fire!
Our journey starts on December 19th and ends on December 28. We expect most of you to get to Iceland by the evening of the 19th so we can begin with an evening Northern Lights observation in Reykjavik!
This Journey is officially for adults; however, since we all will be traveling in our rented cars to and from various locations, we’re fine if you decide to take your children with you, and we have calculated the price for them as well. Please note that some attractions do not allow kids under 6-7 y.o., such as ice or lava caves.
As this all will happen in December, please note that there are only 5 hours of daylight from 11 am to 4 pm. Therefore, we will plan the day to spend the maximum daylight time visiting various attractions and moving from one location to another during the dark hours.
We highly recommend renting an SUV 4x4 driving car, allowed on F-roads in Iceland. The Car rental at this time of the year is not very expensive; a standard ten-day 4-wheel drive SUV will cost you just over 500 bucks. https://www.northbound.is/
The hotel and most of the meals are also on you. In Iceland, you may find a decent hotel in all price ranges, starting from about $75/night to $500 night or so. But since you’ll be driving a car, don’t worry if the hotel is 20 min and not 5 min away from the needed destination. The meals would be slightly more expensive than in the US, but doable, and most hotels with breakfast have plenty of food variety, so you can make sandwiches to take with you and save on lunch if you wish. In remote areas, having an extra sandwich in the car will be a great idea, just in case there is no open restaurant or café to invite you in.
On the trip, in some areas, especially the caves, you’ll need snow pants or water-resistant warm pants, comfortable, water-resistant hiking boots, a warm coat, a hat, and gloves.
It is called “Independent with Jookender” for a reason. On some days, you’ll perform independently, at your own pace, and only meet with the group for specific ticket-based attractions. The full itinerary will be placed once the early bird is over and all tours are secured and scheduled. We keep the right to change some parts of the tours if necessary due to weather and other special circumstances.

Pricing of the Tour

- Regular* – Adult 13+ $789, child $612 (ends November 10, 2023)

*Please note that waiting longer with your payment may result in experiencing the same attractions at a different time than others or replacing one attraction with another if the first has been sold out. Your trip will be unforgettable in any case, that’s for sure.

Refund Policy: Full Refund until October 10, 2023. No refund after that day, unless we find a replacement for you. We recommend you to purchase an insurance that will cover both, the tickets, the hotel, and the Jookender part.
