Harry Potter Magic Trip

Jewish Harry Potter – A Journey to Universal Studios in Florida for families with teens 12+

Early Bird has been extended to September 25

Dates of Travel: November 22 – November 27

J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series has been criticized for being either Jewish or Antisemitic. During this year, we’re bringing this topic for discussion with Teens. The trip to Universal Studios is just one piece of the puzzle. The brightest side of the book is the magic we all want to be a part of. In addition to the Universal Studios visit, we will be visiting the University of Florida and Salvador Dali Museum. The tour is for the Families with Teens, not just Teens. It’s partially independent, and it gives you a variety of choices – to pick up your hotel and transportation, to organize your free time, etc.

Plan to purchase your Rt Trip tickets, going to Florida on November 22nd and returning on November 27. Remember, that Monday after Thanksgiving there is no public school–teacher conference in Massachusetts. Or, you may return a day before if you cannot stay until Monday – program-wise, the only thing you’ll miss is the farewell dinner (that we might exchange for lunch, for example – still decided).

Do you need to rent a car for your trip? It’s questionable. In our experience, and with today’s rental prices, you’ll be better off using Uber or Lyft, even when we will be going to the University of Florida and Salvador Dali Museum. It’ll save you time and the trouble of parking your car near Universal Studios. As far, as airport transfers go, Lyft and Uber or a hotel shuttle work wonders. But you’re the boss, and you decide on your own what’s best for your family.

Do we all need to stay at the same hotel? Not necessarily. We all have our preferences and habits, travel points, and budgets. We need to be in close proximity to Universal Studios, but that’s the only requirement. The welcome and farewell dinners will be organized within the area, so Uber, Lyft, or your car will be a great solution.
